Through our team of data scientists and with our proprietary algorithms, Walker Bernardo provides clients excellent analytical solutions in marketing, transactional analysis, social media analysis, and in the development of scalable customer databases.

Walker Bernardo, LLC is a minority-owned business with its operations in the greater Seattle, Washington area. Dr. Russell Walker is Founder and Managing Director.

Dr. Russell Walker helps companies develop strategies to management risk and harness value through Big Data and Analytics. He is currently Director of Experiential Learning in Analytics and Senior Lecturer of Marketing and International Business at the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. Russell Walker has developed and taught executive programs on Analytics, Data Science, Strategic Data-Driven Marketing, Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Corporate Governance, and Global Strategy.

He founded and teaches the Analytics Consulting Lab, a popular experiential learning class at the Foster School of Business, which brings MBA students together with corporate opportunities focused on data. He also teaches courses in risk management, marketing, analytics, and on strategies in globalization. He was awarded the Kellogg Impact award by his MBA students for excellence and impact.

He is the author of the award-winning book From Big Data to Big Profits: Success with Data and Analytics (Oxford University Press, 2015) which examines data monetization strategies and the development of data-centric business models in the new digital economy. He is the author of the text Winning with Risk Management (World Scientific Publishing, 2013), which examines the principles and practice of risk management through business case studies. He has also authored many business cases and published multiple business case studies through Harvard Business School Publishing. These cases include examinations of the deployment of analytics in media, best practices in global supply chains, optimal portfolio investment strategies, and corporate governance.

He serves on the Scientific and Technical Council for the Menus of Change, an initiative led by the Harvard School of Public Health and the Culinary Institute of America, to develop healthier and more environmentally friendly food choices. He previously served as a member of the board of the Education and Technology Committee to the Morton Arboretum. He was a board member of the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where he developed support programs for Hispanic entrepreneurs and worked with US senators on US Latino matters.

He is often quoted in the Financial Times, the International Herald Tribune, the Washington Post, and CNN among other news media, and has been invited to share his perspective internationally through seminars. He is a frequent lecturer at the IESE Business School in Spain, the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, and the Indian School of Business in India. Russell founded and leads the Complete Course in Executive Education for Risk Management offered by the Amsterdam Institute of Finance.

Russell began his career with Capital One Financial, Inc., where he served as a corporate strategist specializing in the advancement of analytics in the enterprise for the purposes of improved marketing and risk management. He founded and led multiple centers of excellence in analytical fields while there. His worked also included international market entry evaluation and technology review.

He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University, where he studied catastrophic risk analysis. He also holds an MS from Cornell University, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University and BS from the University of South Florida.

He lives in Woodinville, Washington with his wife and family. He enjoys photography, trees, and horticulture.
